Snow Day

Over a foot of snow -yikes. They closed pretty much every government building in Madison today, so it was a "snow day" for me. I can't really remember the last one of these I had - maybe 12th grade. What a nightmare though clearing the driveway.

  1. We had the same yesterday. Almost everything was closed. It's been a long time I've seen that many businesses closed down around here. Anybody who has me on facebook, I post a few pics of the drifts around our house.

  2. That was a crazy Wednesday... I shoveled four driveways and pushed out/unburied eight cars. So much for studying >.<
It took me an hour and a half to get to school today... good thing I left three hours early. I literally could have walked faster, however, the wind chill was 22 below zero.
Anywho, there actually is a moral to this story. As I was biding my time, stuck in a snowbank and sandwiched between a plow and several impatient drivers, I thought: Well, I could freak out... or I could be thankful that I've even got a truck to get stuck in. I could be thankful that I've got a school to go to, and the money to go there. I could be thankful that I ate breakfast. Finally, I could be thankful that I'm not being shot at, hunted, or bombed. Hmmm, being stuck doesn't seem so bad...

  3. I almost got my house unburied last night which is great! This is awesome exercise for me, didnt realize that I have no back muscles (or thats what it feels like anyhow). There are snow drifts bigger then my puppy (Malcolm my Samoyed sleddog) and he is having a blast!

I'm hoping it will get a bit warmer so my kids can come out too and enjoy the snow.

Aside from coming into work on that wednesday to get stuff done its not too bad. I am probably the snow person holding everyone up but im ok with that. Theres the fast lane to the left!

I tell ya though, I think i still prefer this snow as opposed to mudslides or hurricanes.
