CQC

Close Quarters Combat - CQC - good course? If you have been through it before, what did you learn? Would you go through it again? Why/why not? I am considering running one, and wanted to generate some discussion. Feel free to start anywhere, or with any particular part of the course.

  1. It's possible that we could find a gun in our hands. Gun retention is a great skill. I attend because I think it's important keep the skills fresh in my mind. I'm also a huge fan of the sentry removal. Combat feels a little different with guns, and if we haven't put the reps in, that difference could be to our detriment. It would seem intuitive to me to just add all of these skills into normal class, but I see that there are problems with that. Warriorschool wants their cut for the class material, and the Bujinkan might wonder what the heck we're teaching. Meh, at any rate, it's good training.

  2. Our Winter Festival - Christmas Party - Celebration of Soke's Birthday Weekend... I'll be showing some of the CQC DVD videos, and the photos taken at Camp Shelby where we trained over 15,000 soldiers in the one day CQC course. I think that seeing is believing - in this case.
